Recipe(tried): Fried Apples

Misc.

I was raised on fried apples. I learned to do them myself from how my mother prepared them. Our family especially likes this with pork dishes.

Select apples that don't cook down too much. I like Macs or Gold Delicious

4-6 apples (about 1 apple per person)
core and quarter apples an then slice again as you would for pie.
melt a couple of tablespoons of butter in a fry pan
braise the apples over medium heat until somewhat translucent and lightly browned
Add sugar and cinnamon to taste.

We serve them hot from the skillet with roast pork or fried pork chops.
