Recipe(tried): Fudge Fudge Pudding cake

Desserts - Puddings, Gelatin

I don't have the Jiffy cake mix recipe - but I do have one from the 20th Pillsbury Bake Off book (about 1968) -- this would be double the size you're looking for - but I'm sure you could work that out!

FUDGE-FUDGE PUDDING CAKE

1/4 cup butter or margarine
1 pkg (2 layer size) Pillsbury Fudge Cake Mix
1-1/3 cups hot water
1/4 cup chopped walnuts or pecans - if desired
1 pkg (12-1/2 oz) Pillsbury Buttercream Fudge or Walnut Fudge Frosting mix (they don't make these any more - tho I believe certain other companies do)
2-1/2 cups boiling water

Preheat oen to 350 degrees

Makes 13 x 9 inch pudding cake - 12 to 15 servings

Melt butter in 13 x 9 x 2 inch pan in oven. Remove from oven; add dry cake mix and 1-1/3 cups hot water. Stir with fork until smooth; spread evenly in pan. Sprinkle with walnuts. Sprinkle dry frosting mix over all. Gently pour 2-1/2 cups boiling water over frosting mix. Bake at 350 degrees F oven for 30 to 35 minutes until crust is shiny and cake starts to pull away from sides of pan. Serve warm, saucy side up, with sweetened whipped cream or ice cream.

Note: Other flavors of cake mix may be substituted.

For a smaller cake prepare half the recipe - and bake in 9-inch square pan for 25 to 30 minutes.

Hope this helps.
