Recipe: Glory Fireside Soup (using canned collard greens)

GLORY FIRESIDE SOUP

4 strips bacon, diced 1/2-inch
2 cups white onion, diced 1/4-inch
1 (27 oz) can Glory Foods Collard Greens, drain, reserve the liquid
3 cups water plus 1/2 cup cold water, divided use
1 quart heavy cream
3 tbsp flour
salt and pepper to taste

Cook the bacon half way in a deep medium size sauce pot.

Add the onions and cook until they are soft.

Add the reserved liquid from the Glory Foods Collard Greens, to the bacon and onions. Add the three cups of water bring to a boil. Add the heavy cream and return to a boil for 10 minutes.

Combine the flour and the 1/2 cup of cold water, mix thoroughly and whisk into the pot and bring back to a simmer, stirring constantly to prevent scorching.

Add the Glory Foods Collard Greens, season with salt and pepper and serve.

Servings: 8-10
