Recipe: Homemade Lemon or Orange Extract (microwave)
Herbs and SpicesLEMON OR ORANGE EXTRACT
1 lemon or orange
1/2 cup vodka
Remove peel from lemon with vegetable peeler or zester. Do not include white membrane.
Place peel in 4-oz bottle. Add vodka. Microwave at High 30 to 45 seconds, or until bottle is warm to the touch.
Cap bottle. Let stand at room temperature about 2 weeks before using.
Makes 1/2 cup
