All the honeybun cake recipes I found started with a cake mix. I posted a couple for you. Hope one of them is what you are looking for.
Honey Bun Cake
1 pkg Yellow cake mix
1/2 cup Sugar
1 cup Buttermilk
3/4 cup Oil
4 Eggs
1 cup Raisins
5 tsp Cinnamon
1 cup Brown sugar
GLAZE:
2 cups Confectioners sugar
4 tbsp Milk
2 tbsp Vanilla
Mix 1st 5 ingredients together and pour into greased and floured 9x13 pan. Mix raisins, cinnamon and brown sugar, swirl into batter in pan.
Bake at 350F for 30 minutes.
GLAZE: Combine all ingredients until smooth and creamy, pour over cake.
Don's Honeybun Cake
1 box yellow cake mix
4 eggs
3/4 cup vegetable oil
1 cup sour cream
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon cinnamon
Glaze:
2 cups powdered sugar
1/4 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
Mix together the cake mix, eggs, oil and sour cream into a thick smooth batter.
Stir together the brown sugar and cinnamon.
Pour half of the batter into a well greased 9 X 13" pan. Sprinkle with half of the brown sugar-cinnamon mixture.
Repeat with remaining batter and sugar mixture.
Bake in a preheated 325 F. oven for 40 minutes.
Stir together the glaze ingredients and pour over the hot cake.
Cool and cut into squares.
