Recipe: Impossible French Apple Pie

IMPOSSIBLE FRENCH APPLE PIE

6 cups tart apples, sliced and pared
1 1/4 tsp cinnamon; ground
1/4 tsp nutmeg; ground
3/4 cup milk
2 tbsp margarine or butter, softened
2 eggs
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup Bisquick or baking mix
FOR THE STREUSEL:
1 cup Bisquick or baking mix
1/2 cup chopped nuts
1/3 cup brown sugar, packed
3 tbsp margarine or butter, firm

Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Grease pie plate, 10x1 1/2-inches.

Mix apples and spices; turn into prepared pie plate.

Beat remaining ingredients except for Streusel till smooth; 15 seconds in blender or 1 minute with hand beater. Pour over apples in pie plate.

TO MAKE THE STREUSEL:
Mix 1 cup Bisquick, 1/2 cup chopped nuts, 1/3 cup packed brown sugar and 3 Tbsp firm margarine or butter till crumbly.

Sprinkle over mixture in pie plate..

Bake till knife inserted in centre comes out clean, 55-65 minutes; cool.
