I make a sauce using 1 cup sugar, 3/4 cups evaporated milk and 1/2 stick butter, bring to a boil and simmer until a syrup like consistency. Remove from hear and add 1 tsp. vanilla and 1/3 cup whiskey. Return to heat and bring back to a boil to burn off the alchhol. This is not a traditional sauce, but is one that my friends and family seem to enjoy. By the way, I use praline liquor instead of the whiskey in the pudding and sauce.
