Recipe(tried): Jewish Apple Cake (using apple pie filling or fresh apples)

Desserts - Cakes
JEWISH APPLE CAKE

This is the recipe i have always used with great success

3 eggs
3/4 cup sugar (plus additional for top)
3/4 cup oil
1 tsp. vanilla
2 cups flour
4 tsp. baking powder
1 large can of sliced apple pie filling (or cut fresh apples)
Ground cinnamon

In a large bowl beat eggs. Add sugar, oil, vanilla. Then add flour and baking powder. Blend all quickly

Spoon and spread 1/2 the batter in a greased tube spring form pan. Top with apple pie filling or fresh cut apples Then spoon and spread the rest of the batter. Sprinkle top with a mixture of white sugar and cinnamon.

Bake in a 350 degree F oven till toothpick comes out not doughy.

NB: The batter may seem pully like pizza dough, but when baked is wonderful. Very old fashion flavour and always enjoyed by everyone.

The secret ingredient here is 4 tsp. baking powder and could very well lighten the recipe of the Jewish Apple Cake Recipe that has been posted in the site.
