Loves used 6 (64oz each) cans of white beans cooked, 3or 4 gallons tomato puree, 2 Quarts brown sugar, and a pre-packaged spice mix, looked like salt pepper maybe some chile powder and god knows what - about 2 handfuls. Mixed it all together in a big square vat. Here comes the flavor, they would then cover the whole thing with ground trimmings from the meat they would get in bluk and layer the top with it. You should know that these trimmings were about 80% FAT. It went into a Pit (oven) and baked all day 6-8 hours until that top layer turned crispy. Then you mixed it together and had some really good BBQ beans.
