MEATLOAF 'GERMAN STYLE'
2 lb. ground beef
2 eggs
1 onion, grated
3 tbsp. Pet evaporated milk
Salt and pepper to taste
1 small (6 oz) can tomato paste
1 small (8 oz) can tomato sauce
Combine ground beef, eggs, onion, evaporated milk, salt, and pepper; mix well. Then add tomato paste. Mix well again.
Shape into loaf and put in loaf dish. Last you take the tomato sauce and pour over loaf.
Bake until done at 325 degrees F.
Serve with mashed potatoes and cabbage.
MEATLOAF (using bread crumbs)
FOR THE MEATLOAF:
1 lb. ground beef
3 cups bread crumbs
1/2 cup Pet evaporated milk
1 onion, chopped
Salt and pepper
FOR THE SAUCE:
2/3 cup ketchup
4 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
4 teaspoons sugar
1/3 cup water
1 cup tomatoes, cut up
Combine ingredients for the meatloaf. Mix and shape into a loaf and place in baking pan.
Bake 10 minutes at 400 degrees.
Meanwhile, combine the ingredients for the sauce in a saucepan. Bring to a boil and simmer a few minutes. Remove from heat.
After the meatloaf has baked 10 minutes, drain off fat, and pour sauce over top.
Return to oven and bake 40-45 minutes longer.
MEATLOAF (using crackers)
FOR THE MEATLOAF:
1 1/2 lb. hamburger
1 cup crushed crackers
1 small can Pet evaporated milk
1 egg
3 tbsp. chopped onion
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
FOR THE SAUCE:
1 tbsp. vinegar
2 tbsp. brown sugar
1/2 cup water
1 cup ketchup or 1 (8 oz) can tomato sauce
2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
Mix all meatloaf ingredients together, shape into a loaf and bake at 350 degrees while you mix the sauce.
TO PREPARE THE SAUCE:
Boil together the sauce ingredients to mix well.
Pour sauce over meat loaf and bake for 1 hour at 350 degrees.

FOR THE MEATLOAF:

1 medium onion, chopped
1 egg
1 cup Pet evaporated milk
Salt and pepper to taste
FOR THE SAUCE:
1/2 cup water
1 cup tomato sauce
3 tbsp. vinegar
7 tbsp. sugar
6 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
Mix meat mixture and shape into loaf.
Combine ingredients for sauce and pour over loaf.
Bake approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes at 350 degrees.
