Recipe(tried): Mrs. Fields Chocolate Torte

Desserts - Candy, Chocolate
This has become my favorite Mrs Fields recipe:

CHOCOLATE TORTE

20 oz semisweet chocolate, finely chopped
2 1/2 sticks butter
6 eggs
1 tsp vanilla

Melt chocolate and butter together in double boiler then remove from heat; set aside.

Whisk eggs and the continue to whisk over double boiler until warm. Then whip until tripled in volume.

Add vanilla to egg mixture. Add 1/4 of egg mixture to chocolate. Mix thoroughly, continue to add a quarter at a time until completely mixed.

Cover the bottom of a springform pan with aluminum foil and place in larger roasting pan. Pour in cake mixture. Fill roasting pan with water to about 2/3 up side of springform pan.

Bake for 20 minutes at 400 degrees F. Once cooled, refrigerate for 6-8 hours.
