Recipe(tried): My Wednesday Night Meal... Green Bean Casserole, Easy Glazed Carrots, Baked Sirloin Steak

Menus
Tonight for dinner I fixed steak baked with vidalia onions and Dales sauce. The steak was thinly sliced sirloin. I made brown gravy with the drippings to go with my mashed potatoes. I had green bean casserole, brown sugar glazed carrots and biscuits. I made alot of short cuts in preparation. I used canned sliced carrots and the green bean casserole and steak cooked in the oven at the same time. This is a fairly easy meal to assemble.

Green Bean Casserole

2 cans French-style green beans
1 can cream mushroom
1 can French-fried onions
salt
pepper
1/2 cup evaporated milk (I have fixed this without and it tastes the same)

Mix all together and bake in greased dish at 350 degrees.

Easy Glazed Carrots

1-2 cans sliced carrots
2 tbsp. butter/margarine
1/3-1/2 cup brown sugar (I never measure, I just sprinkle to cover the top of carrots)

Let come to a slow boil
take out 1/2 cup of hot liquid from pan and mix with with 1 tbsp. cornstarch. Pour back in the pan. Let sauce begin to thicken and turn on low heat to simmer.

Baked Sirloin Steak

5-6 pieces of thinly sliced sirloin
1/2 cup of Dales sauce and water mixture
sliced Vidalia onions sprinkled on top of steak

Salt and pepper steak and onions after you place in a foil-lined pan. Pour Dales/water mixture over steak and cover with foil. Bake on 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Drain liquid from pan and make brown gravy.

Happy Cooking to all!
