Recipe(tried): Nashville House Fried Biscuits (Original)

Hi Edie,

These are made at the famous Nashville House restaurant in Nashville, IN. The distribute the recipe on small cards in their gift shop. It is a large recipe but they can be frozen. Don't get the grease too hot or they will be soggy in the middle. Hope this is what you're looking for!

NASHVILLE HOUSE FRIED BISCUITS

1- Quart Milk
1/4 cup sugar
1/6 cup dry yeast
1/2 cup lard (Crisco)
6 tsp. salt
7 to 9 cups flour

Add yeast to warm water. Add other ingredients & let dough rise. Work into biscuit and drop into hot oil.

This recipe will make about 7 doz biscuits and can be frozen & stored individually in plastic bags. When you work them up don't let the biscuits get too high. Fry at 350 degrees.
