ORANGE AND CHOCOLATE CHIP BISCUITS
1/3 cup shortening
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons sugar
3 teaspoons baking powder
2 teaspoons grated orange peel
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup miniature semisweet chocolate chips
About 2/3 cup orange juice
Orange Glaze (recipe follows)
Heat oven to 450 degrees F.
Cut shortening into flour, sugar, baking powder, orange peel and salt; set aside.
In large bowl, using pastry blender or crisscrossing 2 knives, until mixture resembles fine crumbs. Stir in chocolate chips. Stir in just enough orange juice so dough leaves side of bowl and forms a ball.
Turn dough onto lightly floured surface. Knead lightly 10 times. Roll or pat 1/2-inch thick. Cut with floured 2 1/2-inch biscuit cutter. Place about 1 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheet
Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown. Immediately remove from cookie sheet. Brush Orange Glaze over warm biscuits. Serve warm.

2 teaspoons orange juice
Mix ingredients for the glaze together until smooth.
Makes about 10 biscuits
