Orange Spritz Cookies (cookie press)

Makes 48 cookies
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
3/4 cup butter
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg
2 tsp. grated orange peel
1/2 tsp. almond extract
Colored sugar or decorative candies
Stir together the flour, baking powder and salt. Set aside. Beat butter for 30 seconds. Add sugar; beat until fluffy. Beat in egg, orange peel and almond extract. Add dry ingredients and beat until combined. NOTE: Do not chill the dough.
Pack dough into a cookie press. Force dough through press onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Decorate with colored sugar or candies.
Bake at 400 deg. F. for 6 to 8 minutes or until done. Remove; cool on racks.
