ORIENTAL PEANUT BUTTER COOKIES
1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup dark brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 egg, slightly beaten
1 cup chunky peanut butter
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon cloves
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
Slivered almonds
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Grease a cookie sheet; set aside.
Thoroughly cream butter and sugars. Add egg, peanut butter, salt, baking soda, spices and flour. Mix thoroughly.
With buttered hands, roll into 1-inch balls. Flatten on floured board and cut in star shapes. Transfer to prepared cookie sheet.
Place slivered almonds on each point of stars.
Bake for 12 to 15 minutes.
Makes about 4 dozen
