Recipe(tried): Ortega Green Chile Chili (Using Leftover Pork)

Main Dishes - Chilis, Stews
Dear Mary,

This is how I use leftover pork:

ORTEGA GREEN CHILE CHILI

1 pound cooked pork, cubed
1 tablespoon flour
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1/2 cup choped onions
1 clove garlic, minced
1 (16 oz) can tomato sauce
2 cans (7 oz each) Orgega diced green chiles
1/4 teaspoon oregano
salt to taste
2 cups water

Heat oil in a large skillet. Add onion and garlic and cook until onion is tender. Do not allow garlic to brown.

Add flour and cook until golden.

Add cooked pork and remaining ingredients. Simmer, covered, 1 to 2 hours, stirring occasionally.

Remove cover. Simmer, uncovered, 5 to 10 minutes to desired consistency.

Serve with soft flour tortillas, salsa, sour cream and grated cheese.

You should get about 6 to 8 good-sized soft tacos with this.
