GRANDMA'S ORIGINAL (401 CORRILLO DR.)
MARINATE/ BBQ SAUCE
1/2 cup Wesson oil (any oil will do)
3/4 cup chopped onion (1 large)
3/4 cup ketchup
3/4 cup water
1/3 cup lemon juice
1/3 cup Woody's Cookin With Ease BBQ sauce
Several drops of liquid smoke
3 Tbsp sugar
3 Tbsp mustard
3 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
Salt and pepper
Saute onions in oil- add other ingredients and simmer 15 minutes.
This sauce is great on all meats (chuck steak). Best to double this recipe so you can have it for several BBQ'S. Keeps forever in the fridge.
Granpa's Technique:
Marinate for at least a few hours. Brush sauce on as needed while BBQ'n. After partially cookin chicken on the BBQ, put it in a covered roasting pot and add some extra sauce and a glug of white wine, cover and back on the BBQ with the lid down and on low. Allow to simmer and steam in all the juices till done. Holds good like this too, just keep addin a little more liquids to keep it moist if so!
To serve:
Put the pot on table (Pad underneath) and crack the lid when guest have all sat down, Yummy!! And of course, the French bread for dippin into the sauce. Enjoy!!!!!!!!
