Recipe: Oven Baked Chimas

Misc.
Although I posted some thoughts about cookbooks earlier I would like to add a couple recipes and a couple more thoughts. I think a couple basic things that all new cooks need to learn is the importance of hygiene in cooking; utensils as well as hands and the knowledge of the food pyramid and the importance of it in our lives. Now for the fun part--recipes. This is one that is used often at my house and a quick thing for kids of all ages to make and enjoy.
Oven Baked Chimas
1 5 ounce can chunk chicken
1 cup salsa
3/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
4 flour (12 inch) tortillas
Mix the 3 three ingredients together in a bowl until well mixed. Lightly spray a baking sheet. Take a 1/4 of the mixture and fold in envelope style in a tortilla. Place on baking sheet and bake about 8 minutes at 450 degrees. May lightly spray tortillas before baking for browning more. This recipe can be used with any precooked meats you might have.
Dinosaur food
1/4 cup dirt (coccoa)
1/2 cup swamp water (milk)
2 cups crushed bones (uncooked oatmeal)
1/2 cup squashed bugs (crunchy peanut butter
1/2 cup fat (margarine)
Mix dirt and swamp water. Add crushed bones and fat. het to a boil for 1 minutes. Add grass and bugs. Cool and drop by teaspoon on waxed paper.
I would also teach the older ones how to cook pasta and show them the many ways it can be used.
Could also make a fruit pizza using refrigerated cookie dough for crust and then a few days later make it with your own crust and show them it really isn't that difficult. Sounds as if you have a fun filled, busy time again.
