Recipe: Pasta with Ground Pork and Cheese

PASTA WITH GROUND PORK AND CHEESE

1 pound ground pork
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 clove garlic, minced
2 tbsp olive oil
1 (8 oz) can tomato sauce
1 (6 oz) can tomato paste
1 (3 oz) can mushrooms with juice
1/2 tsp salt
1/8 tsp pepper
7 ounces ziti pasta, cooked
2 cups grated cheddar cheese

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Cook the ground pork, onion, and garlic in the olive oil until the onion is golden brown.

Add the tomato sauce, tomato paste, mushrooms, salt, and pepper; simmer 15 minutes.

Alternate layers of ziti pasta, cheese and meat mixture in a greased 2 quart casserole dish ending with a layer of cheese on top.

Bake 30 to 40 minutes or until the casserole is bubbly and the cheese is melted.
