Recipe: Peanut Butter-Frosted Brownies (using brownie mix) (Betty Crocker, 1987)

PEANUT BUTTER-FROSTED BROWNIES

1 package Betty Crocker chocolate ship brownie mix
1/2 cup coarsely chopped unsalted peanuts
1 1/4 cups powdered sugar
1/3 cup peanut butter
3 tablespoons plus 1 teaspoon milk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease bottom only of rectangular pan, 13x9x2-inches.

Prepare brownie mix as directed on package except stir peanuts into batter.

Bake 27 minutes; cool 2 hours.

Beat remaining ingredients until smooth (stir in additional milk if necessary).

Frost brownies with peanut butter mixture. Cut into 1 1/2 or 2-inch squares.

Makes 48 or 24 brownies
