PETIT FOUR DE-LITES
Source: Domino Confectioners Sugar Box
A list of ingredients you will need:
1 (16-oz.) frozen pound cake
1 (1-lb.) pkg. Domino Confectioners Sugar (approx. 3 3/4 cups)
4 to 6 tablespoons - water or milk
Food coloring
Candied violets, roses, sprinkles, and/or flower icing decorations
With a long, sharp knife, trim the rounded hump off the poundcake so the top is flat. Trim the crusts off the sides. Slice the cake in half horizontally, then crosswise into 1-inch squares (or cut with cookie cutters in rounds, stars or other simple shapes). Place cake pieces on wire rack over pan or cookie sheet.
In large bowl, slowly add water or milk to confectioners sugar until mixture is desired consistency. Add food coloring and tint to desired color .
Spoon icing evenly over tops and sides of cake pieces. Icing that drips off can be reused. Decorate as desired.
Quick Tip:
Don''t bother defrosting the poundcake. It''s easier to trim the cake while it is still frozen.
Makes 24 petits fours.
