Recipe: Raisin Clusters (no bake cookies using puffed rice cereal, 1970's)

RAISIN CLUSTERS

1/2 cup margarine
3/4 cup sugar
1 cup chopped raisins
1 egg, beaten
1 tbsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 cup chopped nuts
2 1/2 cups puffed rice cereal
1 1/2 to 2 cups coconut

In a saucepan melt margarine; add sugar, raisins, egg, milk, vanilla and salt, bring to a boil; boil 2 minutes.

Remove from heat. Add cereal and nuts and mix thoroughly. Cool slightly; spoon by tablespoon onto coconut and roll to coat. Cool before serving.

Makes 3 to 3 1/2 dozen
