Recipe(tried): Re: HELP! Company coming!

Misc.

I have used this simple recipe for so long that it became "my" steak recipe. I found it in an old cookbook of my mother's. It is great because you can leave it alone for the day. Start marinating the steaks in the morning or even the night before for the best flavor.

Teryaki Marinade

1/3 cup soy sauce
1 Tblsp wine vinegar (I have used white wine with good results)
2 Tblsp granulated sugar
1 Tblsp dark brown sugar
1 1/2 tsp ginger
1 clove garlic, minced

Blend all ingredients thoroughly. Use the mixture to marinate up to 3 pounds of steak in the fridge, turning once or twice. Grill steak to your preference. If you like, make some extra marinade and heat it up as a dipping sauce. This is also a delicious sauce for stir fry.
