Recipe(tried): Red Dates and Gingko Nut Tea

Beverages
Red Dates & Gingko Nut Tea

A chinese tradional drink, this can be served warm for comfort or cold as a pick-me-up!
**These red dates are NOT the ones for baking. They are dry, red and round in shape. Get the ones deseeded for easier cooking as the seeds make dishes bitter in taste. You have to get them in an Asian grocer or Chinese medicine shop.

5 red dates
150 g gingko nuts (shelled)
3 stalks screwpine leaves, tied into a bundle
3 tbsp brown sugar
600 ml water

1. Place all ingredients in pot.

2. Bring to a boil and allow to simmer for at least 20 minutes over very low heat. Serve hot or chilled.
