Recipe: Rosy Raisin Nut Cookies with Orange Glaze (using ketchup in the cookie dough)

FOR THE COOKIES:
1 cup butter or margarine, softened
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 3/4 cups sifted flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 cup catsup
1/2 cup raisins
1/2 cup chopped nuts
FOR THE ORANGE GLAZE:
1 1/2 cups sifted confectioner's sugar
2 tbsp. orange juice
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Grease a baking sheet.
Cream butter until consistency of mayonnaise. Beat in sugars gradually. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Add vanilla; set aside.
Sift flour, baking soda and salt. Add to creamed mixture alternately with catsup. Stir in raisins and nuts. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls on prepared baking sheet, spacing 2 inches apart.
Bake at 375 degrees F for 10 to 12 minutes, or when edges are brown. Remove from pan and spread with orange glaze while hot.
TO MAKE THE ORANGE GLAZE:
Combine the confectioner's sugar and orange juice and beat until smooth. Add more juice to thin if necessary.
