Recipe: Secret Cookies with Lemon Glaze (using ketchup in the cookie dough)

"These cookies are so named because their flavor and color is due to the secret ingredient, namely, ketchup."
FOR THE COOKIES:
2 3/4 cups sifted flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/8 tsp. salt
1 cup margarine, softened (or butter flavored shortening)
1/2 cup white granulated sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 cup ketchup
3/4 cup raisins
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
FOR THE LEMON GLAZE:
1 1/2 cups sifted confectioners' sugar
2 tbsp. lemon juice
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly grease a baking sheet.
Sift together flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
Cream together margarine or shortening and sugars until light and fluffy. Use mixer at medium speed. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in raisins and walnuts. Drop by heaping teaspoon, 2 inches apart, on prepared baking sheet.
Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes or until no imprint remains when touched lightly with finger. Remove from baking sheet and cool slightly. While cookies are still warm brush with lemon glaze.
TO MAKE THE LEMON GLAZE:
Stir the confectioner's sugar and lemon juice together until smooth.
