Recipe: Rummage Pickles

I have heard this recipe called hodgepodge Could this be it?

Rummage Pickles

2 qts. green tomatoes
1 ssmall head cabbage
3 sweet green peppers
3 sweet red peppers
1 large ripe cucumber
3 large onions
1 quart red ripe tomatoes
6 cups celery
1/2 cup salt
1 1/2 cups vinegar
1 1/2 cups water
4 cups sugar
1 tsp. dry mustard

First chop all vegetables, discarding pepper seeds and peeling onions. Add salt and let stand overnight.

In the morning, drain, discarding the liquid. Next, Add vinegar, water, sugar and mustard to vegetables,bring to a boil and simmer about 1 hour or until liquid is clear.

Pack into hot jars, adjust lids, Process in boiling water bath (212F) 10 minutes. Remove jars and complete seal unless closures are self-sealing type. Makes 14 pints.
