Recipe: Sangria Punch from Spain
Beverages Sangria Punch
This drink, from Spain, is great on a hot day. Serve it with picks for spearing the fruit from the bottom of the glass after drinking. We have also provided recipes for making other versions of Sangria:
Juice from 1 lime
Juice from 2 oranges
1/4 cup sugar
1 shot brandy
1 shot gin
1 bottle dry red wine
Slices of lime and orange
Fresh peach slices or strawberries or pineapple, or cantaloupe balls
10 ounces (300 ml) of chilled club soda
Ice cubes
In a tall pitcher, combine citrus juices and sugar. Stir in brandy and gin. Mix in red wine. Refrigerate if you are serving sangria later. Before serving, add citrus slices, additional fruit, and the chilled club soda to taste. Serve over ice in tall glasses. Makes 4 to 6 servings.
