Recipe: Savory Apple Pizza

Savory Apple Pizza
(Serves 4)

1 pound pizza dough, proofed
3/4 cup ricotta cheese
2 tablespoons red onion, minced
1/2 teaspoon fresh dill, chopped
1/2 teaspoon fresh thyme, minced
2 Rome apples, peeled and sliced
1/2 cup red peppers, sliced julienne style
1 cup fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced thin
2 tablespoons butter, melted

Preheat and oven to 450 degrees. On a floured surface roll and stretch the dough until it is about 1/8-1/4 inch thick. Lightly oil a small sheet pan and place the dough in it. In a bowl combine the ricotta, onion, dill, and thyme. Mix well and lightly spread this over the surface of the dough. Next arrange the apples, peppers, and mozzarella neatly. Brush with the melted butter and bake in the oven for 15-18 minutes or until the bottom of the dough is nicely browned.
