SIMPLE SPAGHETTI SAUCE
2 tbsp. olive oil
1 large onion, chopped
4 to 5 cups canned diced tomatoes, undrained
1 cup fresh mushrooms, sliced (optional)
1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
2 tsp. basil
2 tsp. oregano
2 tsp. sugar
Salt and pepper (to taste)
Turn the slow cooker on HIGH; add oil and onion. Allow onion to soften and wilt slightly.
Set cooker on LOW; add remaining ingredients.
Cover crock pot and cook on LOW for 4-6 hours.
Taste and adjust seasonings to personal preference before serving.
Makes 6 servings
