Recipe: Skewered Beef Strips (serves 2)

Main Dishes - Beef and Other Meats
SKEWERED BEEF STRIPS

3/4 pound lean boneless beef steak (chuck, flank, sirloin or top round)
1/4 cup soy sauce
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons lemon juice
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
2 tablespoons wine (or water)

Cut beef into strips 1/2-inch wide and 3 or 4-inches long.

Combine remaining ingredients and toss with beef strips. Cover and refrigerate several hours or overnight.

WHEN READY TO COOK:
Remove from marinade and thread on skewers. Broil or grill. Brush with marinade once or twice during cooking. Discard remaining marinade.

Makes 2 servings
