This isn't the real Auntie Anne's recipe but otherwise a very good homemade pretzel recipe - you could add the jalapenos to it. Maybe this will help
Soft Pretzels
Makes 32
2 cups warm water
2 pkg. Active dry yeast
1/2 cup sugar
2 tsp. Salt
1/4 c. soft butter
1 egg
6 1/2 - 7 1/2 cups unsifted flour
1 egg yolk
2 T. water
Coarse salt
Put warm water in warm bowl, sprinkle in yeast, stir until dissolved.
Add sugar, salt, butter and 3 cups of the flour. Beat until smooth then add flour to make stiff. Cover bowl tightly with aluminum foil and refrigerate 2-24 hours.
Turn on to lightly floured board. Divide in half, then divide each half into 16 pieces. Roll each piece into pencil shapes 20-inches long. Shape pretzel. Place on lightly greased baking sheets.
Blend egg yolk and 2 tablespoons water and brush pretzels. Sprinkle with coarse salt. Let rise in warm place until double - about 25 minutes.
Bake at 400F for 15 minutes.
