Recipe: Sour Cream Kolacky (using yeast)

Breads - Yeast Breads
SOUR CREAM KOLACKY

1 cake compressed or 1 pkg. dry yeast
4 tbsp. sour cream
2 cups flour, sifted
1 egg yolk
1/2 lb. salted butter
Prune, apricot, or cheese filling (Solo preferred)
Confectioner's sugar

Have all ingredients at room temperature.

Soften yeast in sour cream. Add egg yolk and stir.

Work butter and flour like you would pie dough until crumbly. Then add sour cream mixture and mix well. Place dough on floured cloth and roll with hands until you get a ball.

Divide in half. Roll each portion to thickness you like. Cut into rounds with 2-inch cutter. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Make a dent in each round and place 1 teaspoon prune, apricot, or cheese filling in each.

Bake in preheated 425 degree F oven for 10 minutes.

Sprinkle with confectioner's sugar when cool.
