Recipe: Overnight Kolache (using yeast)

Breads - Yeast Breads
OVERNIGHT KOLACHE

2 pkgs. yeast
1 cup lukewarm water
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp. salt
2 sticks butter, melted
1 cup cold water
2 eggs, unbeaten
6 cups flour

Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water and set aside.

Mix remaining ingredients together and add yeast mixture. Blend well. Place in covered plastic container in refrigerator overnight.

THE NEXT MORNING:
Roll part of dough out 1/4 inch thick and cut into round kolache shapes. Place on 3 greased cookie sheets. Brush tops lightly with melted butter. Let rise 30 to 45 minutes.

Indent centers and fill each kolache with 1 heaping teaspoon pie filling (any flavor).

Bake in preheated 350 degree F oven for 10 minutes until golden brown.
