Recipe(tried): Thanksgiving Dinner Tips

Misc.

I used to go the whole nine yards for Thanksgiving since I like to cook for numerous guests. What I did this year was that instead of "Homemade" Apple walnut stuffing I bought Pepperidge Farm Premade Apple and Raisin Stuffing. I I bought enough to stuff the turkey and to cook as a side dish. Next for the gravy, I never get it right so I use Franco Americangravy. You know-I got a lot of compliments on my "homemade" gravy and the stuffing. It cut prep time significantly and I knew I had good products that people would enjoy. No one needs to know that some of the food was "packaged". Also, this year, I asked my guests to bring their favorite side dish. Everyone enjoyed contributing and knew that they could share in some of their traditions as well. Maybe they would like to share-everyone compliments each others dishes and there is a nice feeling of sharing. You'll be less frazzled too and be able to enjoy your company. As for breads, I had someone bring some french bread which we warmed and served. I also made a pumpkin bread from Pillsbury ( a box). Also, did you think of making a couple of pans of lasagna instead of one of the meats? You can make it ahead and freeze it .

I never thought I would use boxed things but I chanced it and it was great! For both me and the guests.

Good Luck.
