Recipe(tried): this might help

Misc.

I like brown rice, too. i have had good luck boiling, taking these steps:
Follow package guidelines on water and rice amounts.
Make sure the water ( with a little salt) is boiling VIGOROUSLY. Add rice, bring again to a good boil, cover, and cook according to package directions. Sometimes when i had rice, the water would not be boiling enough, and it seemed to make a difference. The salt supposedly makes the water boil at a higher temp, so the water is actually hotter and absorbsmore quickly, making the rice more tender. I just read all this stuff, but tried it and it seemed to work.

We like brown rice fixed with chicken broth instead of water to add a little flavor. Also, chopped spinach and tomatoes (one or both) are good in rice as a side dish. good luck!
