cooking rice

Misc.

If you are cooking rice a lot, you might want to look into a microwave rice cooker. They only cost around $10.00 at oriental markets and they are great.
Unlike plug in rice cookers, these are a snap to clean, and rice always comes out great. Plus thay are real cheap. Brown rices, including short grain usually need to cook 45-50 minutes. I usually use a ratio of 1 1/4 to one on short grain brown rice. I make sushi with it.
