Recipe(tried): Tiramisu: A History, recipe and step by step instructions with photos for Johanna

Desserts - Assorted
Hi Johanna, Here is a step by step recipe that I have used many times for tiramisu. I have never seen or made it with whipped cream, but I do use a round springform pan instead of a 13x9-inch pan as the recipe does. I simply line the sides and bottom with soaked ladyfingers then layer in the filling and a second row of ladyfingers then filling again. You could pipe whipped cream around it after it was unmolded though. This desssert is the only reason I still own an expresso machine, but you can also make it with very strong coffee. I have once substituted cream cheese sweetened with a tablespoon of sugar when I couldn't get the mascarpone but it isn't as good!
