Recipe: Toffee Bars (using graham crackers and chocolate chips)

TOFFEE BARS

15 graham crackers
1 cup (2 sticks) butter
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 cup chopped walnuts
12 ounces (2 cups) milk chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Arrange graham crackers in a single layer on a greased cookie sheet.

Melt butter in small saucepan and add brown sugar and walnuts. Bring to a boil and boil for 1 minute; stir constantly.

Pour hot mixture evenly over graham crackers.

Bake at 350 degrees F for 12 minutes.

Sprinkle chocolate chips over top and let melt. Spread the soft chocolate over toffee carefully.

Cool completely on a wire rack. Break into pieces.

Servings: 12
