Hi Carla,

Your recipe looks the same as this recipe: Mexican Wedding Cake (click here), except yours doesn't have baking powder listed. That may be what you need. It could be that the pineapple in syrup was too heavy so you could try changing to juice pack too. If you try again please let us know how it turns out for you.
