ISO: Chocolate Cookie Request

Misc.
I'm trying to replicate a cookie I frequently find at two local bakeries. I've tried several recipes but none are what I'm looking for. The cookie is chocolate with walnuts--no chocolate chips or other chips. It is very much like a brownie in appearance--it has that thin, lighter brown "crust" like a brownie gets on the top which is lighter than the brownie itself. The cookie also has cracks in it like a gingersnap, but is not relatively smooth like a gingersnap or snickerdoodle. It is more "bumpy" in appearance and the darker cookie is visible underneath where the light brown "crust" cracks. It is very chocolate-y in taste, chewy, and somewhat dry. It's also very rich--one cookie satisfies me. I'm guessing it's made with cocoa instead of melted chocolate because I detect a "cocoa" taste, but I may be wrong. I've already tried a "fat free chewy chocolate cookie" from this site made with Karo syrup, the Kraft's site Chocolate Bliss cookie, a version from the Food Network site, and one made from a chocolate cake mix and one from a brownie mix. None of these are like the one I'm looking for. Because of the expense I've already gone through buying baking chocolate and cocoa and mixes, I'd now only like to try a recipe if someone has actually made a cookie recipe that sounds like what I'm looking for, or if someone gave you a recipe and you've seen the cookie. There are several "brownie cookies" on this site, but I'd like to know if their finished appearance is like the bakery cookie described before I try them. Logically I'd think my best bet would be with a brownie mix as the cookie is so much like a brownie, but when I made the brownie mix into a cookie per directions from the site, it didn't turn out like I expected. Yes, I have asked the bakeries in question, but they understandably don't give out their recipes. I think this is a lost cause, but I figured I'd throw it out here in case someone has an idea. Thank you in advance for any help you may provide, and please excuse my wordiness. I wanted to give as much info as possible.
