ISO: clam recipes

hi i live on a 157 acre lake in upper wi. its a very sandy bottom and we have lots of clams in our lake. how would i go about opening them and cooking them?
i seem to remember we ate them when we were little from a lake in central wi but i can't remember more than an image. thanks susan
