ISO: Cucumbers and onions

Please help! I have lost a wonderful recipe for cucumbers and onions. This recipe has a mixture of vinegar, water, sugar, dill and ??? that is brought to a boil. It is then poured over the sliced cucumbers and onions that are layered in a jar. It is then refrigerated.
Just the best ever!
My garden has gone nuts and I have an abundance of cukes! Plus... I really love this recipe.
