ISO: Frosting recipe from Knolan's Bakery (Phoenix AZ)

I am looking for a bakery frosting recipe. For many years I had a birthday cake from Knolan's Bakery at 27th Ave & Camelback in Phoenix, AZ. Even though it was the 1970's, I still remember how wonderful it was. I have tried many recipes and nothing comes close. I know I can't get the actual Knolan's Bakery recipe, but I would really appreciate a recipe for frosting that tastes like the old bakery frosting. Safeway comes close, but it's not quite right. I appreciate any help you can give me. Thanks.
