ISO: Great Shortbread Cookie Recipe

We are invited to some friend's home for a fish fry tomorrow night. We were told we did not need to bring anything, but I try not to go to anyone's house without something as a hostess gift, no matter how small. I have decided I would like to take some homemade shortbread cookies for the hosts to enjoy later. I have a large collection of cookie tins and will pick one out to give them in. Does anyone have a tried and true shortbread cookie recipe? Thanks, Micha
