ISO: Help. I'm having a formal dinner party

I'm having some very important people from my community over for a dinner party. They are colleagues of my husbands. I will be hosting it on by backyard porch. There will be approx. 20 people. I am looking for gourmet salad recipes that I can prepare in advance. Possibly a nice pasta salad and wild rice salad. Any other suggestions will be helpful. I am been exploring the internet searching for recipes to try. Thanks
