ISO: Hot Water Cornbread

Misc.
my father used to fry up a crisp corncake made from hotwater and white cornmeal (with maybe a bit of shortening?) It was crunchy and delicious. Does anyone remeber how to make these? We called it How Water Cornbread.

Thanks,
JOSIE
