ISO: Italian Fried bows dipped in honey

I am looking for Italian fried bows that are dipped in honey, my late grandmother, and mother 91 now, make them, i do not have the recipe. It only had a few ingredients, flour, oil, water, no eggs, they were rolled into strips, pinched to form a bow and fried, they were then dipped into hot honey. I really need the proportions. Originally we are Italians from the Bronx, NY. My grandparents were born in Bari. Any help would be appreciated, I have tried many times without much success. Thank you all....
