ISO: Killer Gnats

Misc.
Gnats are driving me bonkers I feel like the star in a kung fu flick always having to swat in the air. I heard of a recipe of watering plants in home with garlic and water...
Has anyone tried this as I am wondering if this will worsen my exsisting problem.
At this point I am despreate.
I hope it works or I will have to bring a professional in.....
Please help hopeless in Seattle.....
